It's Beginning to feel like Christmas

2 days until Christmas and the only gift problem I seem to have is what to get Trevor. I know most wives probably know right away what gift to get their husband, but not me. I have the same problem for Valentine's Day, birthday, anniversary, and any other gift giving day there is. I can only buy so many shirts, sock & underwear. But I have not given up yet because this year I think I may have come up with a good gift idea that I'm pretty sure he will love. I guess you will have to tune in after Christmas to find out the results & what the gift was. I will be sure to update.

Now on to the real reason for this post, Christmas. I find that as I get older, I try & find ways to combine traditions from my childhood with my family's needs & desires. I look forward to the candlelight service at Crosspointe on Christmas Eve, because it is a joyous service full of song, worship & thoughtful reflection. I am truly thankful for all that Jesus did for us in his life, including giving his life, so that we may have eternal life in heaven with God, our Father.

I hope everyone has a joyous Christmas, and remember why we celebrate this day!!

Thanksgiving

OK, I know it has been a really long time since that 1st post, and I have no good reason why I have not posted any others, but hey, I am very new to this. It has been a really busy time since Thanksgiving. We spent the day with Embry & Christopher (the newlyweds) at their home along with Christopher's parents and brother. It was a wonderful day with alot of good company & food. We actually let Embry & Christopher be responsible for the turkey & let me tell you, they did a great job!! I would like to share with you the poem Alyson wrote for Thanksgiving:

"I am thankful for my mom, and I'm thankful for my dad. I'm thankful for my sister, who isn't half bad. I am thankful for my brother-in-law, and his family too. I'm thankful for Teddy, who isn't very jerky. But I'm very thankful that I am not a trukey!"

I can't top that, so I won't even try!!

My 1st blog post!!

Well, I have finally decided to start a blog...we'll see how well this goes. I am very hopeful. I guess I figure with so many family memebers located all across the country, this will be a good way for The Britain family to let everyone know what is going on here in Columbus, GA. I am not going to say I will post every week, but I will try to post as often as I can or have something to say. I hope I can inform you, entertain you, or make you ask " what?" You never know with me...anyway, I hope everyone enjoys reading this & please give me your feedback.
